Community Computer Center Opens in
KADUN Tanjong Bunga, 26 August 2001.
Penang Chief Minister and ADUN Tanjong Bunga Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu
Koon today officiated the opening of the Pusat Siber KADUN Tanjong Bunga.
The Pusat Siber is located on the first floor of Dr Koh's Tanjong
Bunga Service Center office at 30 Jalan Tanjong Bunga. The community
computer center is equipped with Pentium III multimedia PCs and jointly
run by the Service Center and volunteers including members of Gerakan
Belia Bersatu Malaysia, Pertubuhan Belia Cergas Tanjong Bunga, Online 2020
Club, and other organisations and individuals.

The objective for the establishment of this Pusat
Siber is to create awareness and provide exposure to computers,
Information Technology and the Internet to residents in the kawasan,
especially those who do not have easy access to computers. At the Pusat
Siber, residents may learn and use e-mail, surf the virtual encyclopedia
in internet, play interesting games, view video documentaries or obtain
information from the various reference CDROM library. In addition, the
partners will also conduct IT training sessions, from basics of computers
to web designing and programming language.
In conjunction with the
launching, a 3 hour basic web creation training session will be held
immediately after the launching. This session will be conducted by
trainers from the Online 2020 club.
